The Kappa Nu chapter of Delta Sigma Theta was established in 1973 and reestablished in 2013 on USI's campus.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members, and to public service with a primary focus on the Black Community. Since it’s founding in 1913 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and, hence all Americans. In realizing its mission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. provides an extensive array of public service initiatives through its Five- Point Programmatic Thrust of: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. The Kaptivating Kappa Nu City-Wide Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campuses of the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville on Sunday May 6, 1973 by 13 Divastating women to promote the vision of Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service!
